  • Ancient roots: Classical yoga texts and Ayurveda emphasized balance across body, mind, and life purpose.

  • Modern evidence: Clinical studies demonstrate benefits for chronic pain, stress, autoimmune conditions, cardiovascular health, and mental well-being.

  • Professional standards: The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) sets global standards for training, ethics, and evidence-informed practice.

Starting something new can bring curiosity and questions. The process of beginning therapeutic yoga is designed to be simple, collaborative, and supportive.

Step 1: Consultation

This is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how sessions work.

Step 2: Initial Session

Your first session focuses on understanding your needs and exploring practices that support your well-being.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Beginning therapeutic yoga is simple and collaborative.

Our first session focuses on understanding your needs and identifying practices that support your well-being.

During this session we may:

  • talk about your goals, health history, and daily stressors

  • explore gentle movement, breath, or rest practices identify tools that support nervous system regulation

  • discuss ways to integrate these practices into your daily life

No prior yoga experience is required, and practices are adapted to meet your body where it is.

The goal is not performance — it is support, awareness, and sustainable well-being.

Step 3: Personalized Plan

If you choose to continue, we develop a personalized plan that may include individual sessions, group programs, or practices you can integrate into daily life.

The pace and focus of the work evolve based on your needs and experiences.

A Collaborative Process

Therapeutic yoga is not about performance or perfect poses. It is about developing awareness, building supportive practices, and cultivating sustainable well-being.
